they tie, cut and burn during a vasectomy. the only way it could be reversed is if a doctor does it.

This is generally very reliable and seeing that it worked for 8 years i say there's absolutely no chance! Vasectomy is however 'easily' revirsible, and 80% of men can still be dads after a long term of being sterile. I think you should be fine these things don't normally fail. Goodluck:)

They aren't guaranteed, but it's a small risk these days. According to http://www.vasweb.com/vasectomy_faqs.htm it's about 1 in 5000 that fail.

I'm actually the product of a vasectomy that didn't take, but that was awhile ago and the technology is better now :)

Did he get tested to make sure he was shooting blanks? I have heard of people getting preg before this was tested. The chances of it happening are like 1/2 %. Becareful until he is tested though.

I would not worry. It he was cut, cauterized and clamped, it is highly unlikely, if not impossible for it to reverse on its own. They use to just cut or tie off, that is why falied vasectomies were more common.

It could happen, but probably not that likely.

Have fun trying to explain it if you're pregnant!

With recent improvements with technology, it is becoming more and more unlikely. It IS still possible, though.
