I believe that it is partially a big contributor to what our youth "see" as normal. I'm all for freedom of speech. I just don't like the way rap portrays women in their music videos. I find it very degrading. I mean, look at fasion magazines. Young girls see those models and think that they are suppose to look like toothpicks just like them. Media has a huge influence on our youth, but, it isn't only hip-hop that is the cause. It's all of it put together.

I think it is influencing the youth, yes. If they would just change their lyrics and the way that they dress, not show so much skin it would help. Also, if they could dance a little less "sexy", it's like they're screwing on the dance floor. But they aren't the only ones, rock music has become a lot more aggressive, also. The whole world is going down the toilet!

The hip hop community is a "product" being sold for cash. Learn to dance hip hop and then ask this question again.

don't be so niave. hip hop is just one brush stroke in the big picture. im not saying that it isn't an upstanding form of medium, but scapegoating isn't going to fix anything.

i think the real questions is how to get people on the right path and who's path is it?

(ps. im sure it's just americans listening to hip hop, let's blame iraq for that one too.... or maybe 60 odd years ago those communists unleased their master plan of rock and roll so that it could eventually form into the bling bling wearing corruption of today)... (what about tomorrow?)
