Hi, I have been under huge torment for the past 6 months, due to the phlegm in throat. Personally, I love to sing, and this has been affecting me ever since then.
Even though I take pills and find ways to cure it, there is still a min. amount of phlgem exising.
I tried to cough, but it had became more serious.
Its not as if I have a whole chunk of phlegm inside my throat, Its only a mininum amount, but its already to the extent of not enabling me to sing high pitch notes..
Imagine your interest being killed for 6 months, and still counting!
Anyone know of any good solution to clear away the leftover phlegm? Any answer will be appreciated, but no offensive lang, please! I am serious. =) Thanks!

I would definitely increase my fluid intake (especially water) to help facilitate and get the phlegm going and during the day I would use lozengers to keep your throat and mouth moist and do not take any cough suppressants because that delays it coughing is your body's natural way of getting rid of mucus and should only be used when necessary(e.g. at night so you can rest) and get a walk in the cool air when possible to get some cool air to help clear and moisten your passageways

Hi there I have had the same problem: you are safe as long as you keep coughing up the junk - how-ever should you stop and then just have a dry cough and still feel congested that's when you worry take a expectorant it will help clear you out, no need to see a Dr, unless you find you can't breath , -hopefully you get well soon , also you can steam yourself just turn on the hot water in the bathroom and sit there that should help get that just up too get well

yes i can feel your problem I've been in to it my self well let me tell you the best cure i tried and worked with me.
first if you are smoker or any smoking habits quit immediately.
then you have to take 3 spoons of natural genuine Honey first thing in the morning with a warm Glass of fresh water for one month. the phlegm will slightly increase the 1st week but its a sign of heeling then it will cut of permanently starting from 2nd week. try it and see your self.

It sounds like you are like me and have bad Post Nasal Drip. Mine was caused by a sinus infection and often I have to go on steriods, flagyl and antibiotics to help clear it up.
I also find that humidified air helps and spraying saline (NaCl) into nostrils will help clear out the passages.
I would highly suggest seeing a GP and having a CT scan of your head (looks at sinus's) to see if they are full of mucous/phelgm.
Good Luck

i received a handout from our conductor that said to remove the phlegm without hurting your throat, you should like sniff fast for three times then exhale through your mouth.. then do it till you get the hang of it or something..

I have the same problem. I tried Mucinex, and it didn't work. Sudafed for nasal congestion helps just a little bit. So far, nothing good.
