i just asked a question and i just wanted to let everyone know that my brother's name is on the lease. he signed agreeing to pay rent for 12 monthes.

You should definitely be able to get at least 1/3 of the rent (his share) for the months he was on the lease but didn't pay.

If he is on paper, he is legally bound to pay.
Also, just because you sue somebody does not mean they will pay. You cannot be jailed for debt either, so you may not see any justice at all.
It may save you more to just kick him out and get his name off of the lease, rather than filing suit against him and paying all those fee's.
