I am half American indian and I get the same problem too!!
Yes, It is just jealousy, please ignore it and be happy with yourself and your beauty. I went thru alot.. they would say my hair is a weave, and laugh at my hair cuz its so long and frizzes easily and hard to style, they dont consider me black cuz i just look different, I couldnt find a beautician that would want to do my hair cuz it was so long, yes the girls will start hatin but just ignore it and just be you. it is jealousy I didnt think so eaither but it is. I was the only very mixed girl in a small town (from tennessee) so i didn't even know how to deal with it at all so it was hell for me

It shouldn't matter what your skin color is, your friends should accept you for who you are. And, if they are picking on you, then they aren't real friends anyways. You are probably a beautiful person inside and out, and they envy that so they try to bring you down. Don't let them bring you down, make their mean words make you hold your head and standards even higher! Keep smiling and don't let them bother you! Take care, sweetie!

It probably is jealousy. Seriously, if they don't know this bothers you, they are not friends. I'm mixed and in junior high, the only ones who really accepted me were other mixed kids.

Eventually it won't matter anymore. Hang in there.

Last time I checked we have nothing to do with what nationality we are. I'm mixed. I went through the same thing. But hey, I used to let it bother me growing up, but now I know it does not matter. Seriously speaking......I love all races. Black, white, spanish, indian, middle eastern, etc.... But I do have to say in my opinion, I really do think that the most beautiful people in the world are the ones that are mixed with 2 or more races.

Be proud of who and what you are. If they are really picking on you and not just a little teasing in fun that you go along with, then they are not good friends, Personally, I see light skin just as beautiful as dark or white. It's more in "who" the person is anyway and your friends aren't very good "who's'."

I disagree with BEACHBAB ... don't stoop to their level.

Sometimes you can just bring these individuals, one by one and tell them you dont like being teased. However, that may not stop this. If they are your 'true' friends they will respect you. If not, maybe its time to get better friends.
In addition, you should not worry too much about what others thinks about you... just believe in yourself and not others. Usually when you overcome this fear, or thought about what others thinks about you, you live a better and healthier lifestyle.

There is always very mean persons in every crowd. Just dont let them make you fear like there going to hurt you in anyway. just keep your head up high and think very positive about your self I bet you are very pretty, And that may be a fact that they are jealous of you. O well it is not your fault your much prettier then them LOL

Yes girl, that's exactly what it is. Jealousy. And they are not your friends. You need to find some better people to hang around.

With friends like those who need friends. Find other people to hang out with. Or, just go solo. Sounds like you'll be better off alone.
