Probably because the TV has static electricity that will attract the dust in the air, the vacuuming stirs up.

That's why you should always vacuum FIRST, wait about 15 minutes before dusting; to give the dust a chance to settle so you can get more of it.

It makes no sense to dust first, then stir up more dust later by vacuuming.

Number one, why waste electricity? If your vacuuming then your not watching it. Also, if they are both on the same circuit, then you can blow a fuse by having them both on.

sometimes the tv gets a static-y depending on which outlet i'm using..
normally i turn it way up. i'm not much of a tv watcher, but its on the whole time i'm doing chores- helps distract me from the irritation of cleaning everyones mess!

Jerry Springer is allergic to dust, and the trailer only has one outlet, anyway.

I do because it bothers me to have it on, and wasting electric, when no one is looking at it.
