I am getting a Tivo soon. For $5 more I can get amzonunbox.
It's not easy finding information online. As I can understand, TV episodes are $1.99 and movies $15. Is there any free content?
Does anyone have the service who can tell me if its worthwhile?

I don't think it's worth it, but I haven't tried it yet. For 15 bucks, I'd rather have the DVD which will have slightly better picture and MUCH better sound (5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS true surround sound). If you don't have a DD/DTS receiver, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Now, if the movies were HD and DD/DTS 5.1, then it would be TOTALLY worth it.

Apple TV/iTunes is the only other legal device competitor, but it has the same problem with no HD content except movie trailers and no DD/DTS 5.1, which is really stupid because the Apple TV box has HDMI and Toslink Optical Audio output, which are for HD and DD/DTS 5.1.

I'd say hold out for a few months and wait to see who will have HD first. Even if you don't have an HDTV, the company that's puts it out there first will have time to work out the kinks so by the time you do get an HDTV, the system will work efficiently.

I'm using Amazon Unbox with my TiVo Series 2 and I love it. It is nice to have the option to have movies put strait on my TiVo so I can easily watch then on my TV. There are not any free ones that I have found, but you only pay for the ones you want.
