NO! I agree with the lady who says that you lose the kids respect. When I was young I was spanked with a belt. When I was 17 I went to Juvenile Hall for trying to murder my mom. So much for spanking. I guess it just makes kids worse!
True story!

Reasoning and explaining punishment is always important at any age.Children are like adults in this way, some need different measures to get a point across...The punishment should fit the crime.Children that are given the reason for the punishment are less likely to do it again...The Bible says spare the rod, lose the child....You do the math. That's good advice in any time.Don't beat your child...Make sure you explain why and that you still love your child after the fact....

NO!!!!! Does your mate or your boss spank you? When you spank you break a child's self esteem down to a level where they will be able to accept abuse as a normal reaction to doing something wrong. I know better. I remember when I was young and I hated my Grandma because she always had the belt ready for me when I visited. She BEAT me daily and quoted the bible as she did it. Fine Christian woman. Did Jesus spank his followers that were sinning? Would he spank children? I guess the best answer for your question is...Do what feels right in your soul. as a woman you have a gut feeling...go with it. I know it seems wrong to me to Hit someone I love and expect them to understand that hurting them is a way of teaching them...That is HOGWASH!!!!!!! redirect and be consistent and with hold their fav toys or activities. try that before you ever decide to raise your hand against a little mold-able impressionable young mind. All they know is what you teach them. good luck and please if you do decide to spank remember always NEVER hit a child in anger.

Yes, sometimes it is necessary. I know that when I got spanked as a kid, I didn't do whatever I had done again.

yes, but only from maybe 3 to 7 and never too hard. And no wooden spoons, etc. Just the hand, so you know how pain there is.

Yes! They should. If I was a parent, I would spank the crap out of them if they misbehave. Seriously. I don't give time outs or take away their prized possessions. Hey, that's how my children will learn. Now, not to the point where I'm going to beat the crap out of them. No. But sometimnes we must push our kids. Use force in order for them to get it. Then that's how they shall learn not to misbehave. Peace!

Definitely not. Children and babies are fragile, loving human beings who see you as the best thing in the world. You mean everything to them. Earn that love and teach them by explaining and example. Remember always that they love you.
