Oh my gosh! Of course I know what it is, and so should you. So, this is what it is. Product (RED) is a new campaign, founded by Bono and Bobby Shiver, to help raise awareness and provide medicines for individuals who need it in Africa. Companies that support the campaign, come out with a line to help benefit the Global Fund. A portion of the profit goes to this fund, which then distributes it. Sorry this is all jumbled. Some of the supporters are Gap, Emporio Armani, Motorola & Sprint, Converse, American Express, and Apple. I have quite a few shirts from Gap, the Motorola phone, a belt from Gap, Braclets, Pins, and I am going back for more today!!!!!!
Really, go to http://www.joinred.com/products.asp . And try to buy some of the products. You are saving many lives when you do so!

Quoted from Wikipedia.com:
Product Red (styled (PRODUCT)RED) is a for-profit brand which is licensed to partner companies such as American Express, Apple Inc., Converse, Motorola, The Gap and Giorgio Armani. It is an initiative begun by U2's frontman, Bono and Bobby Shriver of Debt AIDS Trade in Africa (DATA) to raise money for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Bobby Shriver has been announced as the CEO of Product Red, whilst Bono is currently an active public spokesperson for the brand.
Each partner company creates a product with the Product Red logo. In return for the opportunity to increase their own revenue through the Product Red products they sell, a percentage of the profit is given to the Global Fund.

Yes, Product (Red) are items that were made by several different companies, including Apple (ipod), Sprint and Gap. With the purchase of these items (which are red), part of the purchase goes as a donation to fund AIDs research in (I think) Africa.

Oprah had it on her show and Sprint and Apple have had commercials. I'm sure there are others involved, but these are the ones I've heard most about.
