i get very disturbed when people use the word "normal." there is no such thing as a "normal" person. however, everyone has a phobia, whether it's big or small.

No it is not normal but it is very prevalent, especially in affluent countries.
I have a friend who goes into hyperventilation if she sees a cockroach. Reasoning with them is no good either.
I would say to my friend, come on, it's not a tiger, it cannot eat you, and she would say yes but it can touch me with its legs.

Ask yourself this.........Is it harder to go throughout life depressed and gloomy or is it harder to go through life happy, despite what life may throw you? Think about it. How many people do you encounter during any given day that is just happy.
