You take first Soriano if not Pujols. You can't pass up on the four tool numbers that Soriano is capable of putting up in Wrigley Field. There's a great chance he will do 40/40+ again.

If Pujols is not taken take him. If not take Soriano. That guy is the only guy in the league capable of a 40/40 season which equals huge numbers. Dont waste your pick on Joe Mauer. He's a fantastic player, but finding a good catcher in this year's draft will not be difficult. Focus on getting guy that can hit and steal bases if possible. Dont always go for the huge swingers like Ryan Howard and David Ortiz. While their homeruns and RBI's will help you, Manny Ramirez is a smarter pick cause he can get homers, RBI's, and can bat over .300. Pitching wise always follow the rule. The pitchers in the AL are better than the pitchers in the AL. Having to bat a couple times in a game may not seem like a huge deal for some pitchers, but it's statistically proven throughout the years that the AL has a lower ERA than the NL.

Pujols will be taken #1 overall. There's just no doubt about it.
If you believe pitching wins Fantasy Baseball leagues, take Johan Santana of the twins. If you believe you need offense, take Soriano.
The only thing I don't like about Soriano is that he's an OF now, and there's plenty of offense to go around in the OF. However, he'll probably get some spot time in @ 2nd base, and if he plays in 10 games, or starts 5, @ second base, he'll be available to play there in Yahoo! leagues.
I had the #3 pick in my draft, I went w/ Soriano.

Pujols - Of course, he should be gone.
Soriano
Reyes
A-Rod
Beltran
Vlad Guerrero
There's a shortage of good outfielders, so I pack Soriano, Beltran and Guerrero in the top 6. A-Rod may move to the Angels, where he will thrive away from the NY media circus and Reyes is a 5 category guy at a tough position, and he's showing some power this spring

it depends on your leagues' settings. All leagues are different. Jose Reyes could be as high as 4 in some leagues but slide down to 8 or 9 in others. You have to look at what the categories are, like home runs, avg, rbi, runs scored, steals, on base %, etc, and for pitchers it should be wins, era, saves, and whip. Some leagues add crap like errors, strikeout to walk ratio, and other unnecessary categories. Either way, you can never go wrong with Pujols, arod, ryan howard, or johan santana as a first round pick. I would not take jose reyes that high because how do you know he didnt shoot his load last year? plus he is injury prone for sure. Good luck.

Pujols or Santana, whichever one is available.
For a dark horse, look for Randy Johnson to rebound with a big year. Much easier hitters to face this year, and he will be back in Arizona, where he is familiar.

I'd sat Santana #1 with Pujols #2. You can almost always find good hitting, put good pitching is hard to find.
