What makes a good leader?

Being at ease in front of a group of people, also being able to know what your talking about in depth & charisma. Look towards good leader's, watch them when they speak & how they react to different circumstances. A few to look at are Bill Clinton, Barrock Obama, George Bush Sr. to name a few. Sorry they are all politicians, but my brain is freezing up on me.

A good leader does not tell his/her subordinates how to do anything, they show them. The best way for someone to learn is to mess up and then learn to fix the problem that they caused. This way they see the back end of the system they are working within.
Additionally the leader will see the events as they are falling into place and will help the subordinates by guiding them through the course of things.

A good leader is one who is able to
1. unite people of similar interest, then
2. lead the united "people" towards a common goal.
And along the way, a good leader will,
3. listen to suggestions and be democratic in terms of decision-making,
4. giving people reward and credit when credit is due and
5. impose corrective order onto those who have been detrimental to the "team",
6. continue motivating the people towards the goal,
7, listening and understanding the needs of the people.
But most importantly,
a good leader will put the interest of the "people" above his/her own interest.

People who are leaders are always the brilliant speakers, they have a lot of followers because of their talent of making people believe their ideas, they are masters of gestures, very often their appearance is special and easy to notice and to remember, they always have something to share with the others, they have an emotional influence on people.
