He can opt out of his contract at the end of this season and Dallas could pay him $1 more than he would make if he stayed in Minnesota. In that case the Mavs wouldn't have to trade anyone.
The Mavs have about $25 million in salaries that they won't have to pay next year, plus the they currently only have 14 men on their roster so they already have room without having to make a trade.
Imagine Kevin and Dirk on the same team. It's making my mouth water.
It'll never happen, though. Minnesota would never let him go for free.
Oh well.

Yes KG should be traded. He deserves a title and should win one before he retires. To tell you the truth him leaving would be the best thing for everyone including the T-wolves. They clearly can't win with just KG carrying the team, but they can't rebuild until they get new, decent players. These decent players could only come from a trade off involving KG. So it's almost like the T-wolves don't have a choice.
My suggestion for KG (without any team bias, because i just want to see the guy win for once) is that he goes to either the Lakers (because they have everything he needs to win with a complete starting lineup and no holes in any position) or the Houston Rockets (they need another versatile post up player besides just Yao who is not very mobile at all, and Tmac who can only sometimes be the effective on the post). The Rockets are already a very good team and acquisition KG would do nothing but help.
People who want KG to go to the Bulls, Cavs, or Detroit don't see that he wouldn't be playing as often since he'd have to be competing for minutes on those teams (a la LBJ on the cavs). Besides, those teams aren't deep enough to gaurantee KG a championship.
But then again, i guess it doesn't matter where kevin garnett goes as long as he leaves Minnesota because there's nothing left for him there in terms of basketball.

Yes! KG should run from the T.Wolves and sign with the Lakers. He's the 20+ points per game scorer that Odom isn't and the dominant rebounder and interior defender the Lakers need. He also has the personality and the game to suit Kobe's aggressive offensive prowess. I don't think you'll hear any complaints of Kobe shooting too much from Garnett because he doesn't require a lot of touches to score and he'll be more than happy to rebound and defend while Kobe is on a scoring binge. Plus he's a great passer which is tailor made for the triangle offense! My only concern is that there won't be enough playing time to go around, so someone will have to be traded or sulk on the bench. I have 2 possible rotations I'd like to see:
C) Garnett
F) Odom
F) Walton
G) Bryant
G) Parker
6) Bynum
7) Radmanovic
8) Farmar
or
C) Brown
F) Garnett
F) Odom
G) Bryant
G) Parker
6) Radmanovic
7) Bynum
8) Farmar

I think KG is aching to get out of Minnesota. The top brass has not managed to put together a good team after the one which featured KG, Sam Cassell, and Latrell Sprewell playing well together. Instead of letting KG walk away for nothing, the Wolves would do better to trade him away while his value is still very high. KG is already 31 years old but he's an old 31, already having played 12 NBA seasons. It's hard to believe but Da Kid's career may already be on its decline. The best thing the Wolves can to reward him is to give him a chance to play for a championship elsewhere.

Im unsure about his status next season on being an unrestricted free agent but if he is, and he does sign with the Lakers, it would be interesting. Kobe, Lamar, Garnett, Smush, and Luke. Against true centers, which there are a lack of in the NBA right now, they would probably have a hard time. But if this line-up ever happend The Lakers would most definitely make a good run to the championship. They would have all the tools to compete with the firepower that Dallas and Phoenix has. Not to forget about the Spurs who are always under the radar. Its plain and simple, the west is stacked with elite teams.
With all that said, yes he should leave MN.

Jay is a joke, first off Garnett is old, and he wants out.
Now why would lakers give up Bynum, Odom, Walton all together, MN would want 1 or two decent and a lot of expiring contract so they can rebuild. Which mean Odom and Mihm, plus mckie and other plus 2 draft pick, would settle it, LJ will never go for KG, KG too old, and chicago won't send young talent for old talent. It's just plain stupid.
Kg will sign with the lakers if he is an unrestricted free agents, the lineup will be...
Smush
Kobe
Odom
KG
Bynum/Brown
Bench:
Farmer
Walton
Evans
Bynum/Brown
and Mihm(if he's still around)
Radmanovic
That is an NBA Championship w/ depth.

The question is why wasn't he traded this year or last year? Why hasn't he requested it? This is ridiculous. He has squandered his youth on a franchise that has just never cared enough. The TW never even gave him a chance otherwise they would have gotten a true and proven PG and truly decent shooting guard to support and dish to him. Now even if he gets traded to a championship caliber team he won't be the leader anymore but a stage hand for whomever is the star on that team already. He will end up as the next Karl Malone except that Malone had a good supporting cast and got close several times, yet in his last year that is when he made the trade and it was just too late for him too.
So yes he should get out before he has nothing left for anyone.

that is incredibly much a criminal offense or sin to undergo witness to between the video games best allstars and personalities fall in need of any accomplishments 3 hundred and sixty 5 days after 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Garnett hasnt been traded or a minimum of surrounded with respectable team pals. He for sure desires to work out his jersey up interior the timberwolves rafters. we could face it, this season the t-wolves are not making the playoffs so i think of that if he isnt given a solid sufficient helping solid for next season, Garnett might evaluate asking to be traded because of the fact the age clock is ticking on now. interior the tip its Garnetts determination and thats the way it would be besides.

Kevin Garnett, should be willing to take a pay-cut. He's made so much money over the years with the T-wolves, I'm sure he'll come into his senses and come to the Lakers with close friend Kobe Bryant. He knows its, but what's keeping him is his loyalty to the T-wolves franchise. Its too late to re-build around Garnett, the doors are closing in.

Only if we can get some legit people in return.
I seen these trades offering Hughes and Gooden? Get real.
If we trade KG to the Lakers, we want Bynum, Odom, Parker and Walton in return, that destroys your whole team.
KG to the Cavs? We'd want LeBron.
KG to the Nets? Kidd better be part of it.
I think KG to the Bulls has the best chance since the Bulls have legit young players. If i was McHale, I would trade KG for Deng, Wallace and Gordon plus a pick.
