how can you be so ignorant! now i can slightly understand someone mixing up a bum and a hobo. but a tramp? lets get this right buddy. tramps are the people that your mother say to stay away from. they dress like strippers and wish that they had the stamina and experience of prositutes. now, i am not saying that they are bad people, they are in fact very nice sometimes. some other types are the ones who wear 80's make-up and walk around in texas hick clothes.
a bum, is someone who has a house, mooches off a friend and lives on thier couch, or lives with thier parents still. they are completely unmotivated and just like to watch the telly and drink lots and lots of beer.
a hobo is one of those guys/girls who you see living on the streets under a railroad, or by the subway. they are most likely either holding a sign asking for 'food'(a.k.a. beer/pot/ocasionally food) or a sign saying something like 'ninjas attacked my family and kidnapped them, need money for karate lessons'. also they can be seen wandering around with all of thier meager posessions in a shopping cart or in multiple shopping bags, sometimes even a mixture of the two, or with only a moth eaten coat on thier back.
they are all very friendly unless needed to be admitted to an insaine asylum. if not approach and they will welcome your pocket change.

I'm sure the bums, tramps and hobos would think so but I don't know any.

Yes; Tramps are travelers that will work occasional jobs, bums are stationary homeless and hobos are traveling homeless.
Though I often wonder what they carry in those little red bandanas on a stick.

Yes. Bums are the moocher men who refuse to work and live off their girlfriend's child support checks. Tramps are slutty women. Hobos are street-dwellers and train hoppers.
