I had no pain but was out of work for two weeks due to the fact that you should not lift anything heavy for that amount of time. If you have a more active job you should take more than two weeks off.

I experienced some slight discomfort and did not need the prescription pills for pain.

I did not need any special bras after surgery, it really depends on the plastic surgeon and how he or she takes care of you. I DID buy some BHO bras (look at the link below, there is a shop section, very nice bras). Buy one in your current band size, and one in a band size larger to accommodate for swellng.

For your surgery, wear a button down shirt and slip on shoes, this will make it easier on you when you dress before leaving.

Amazon has something called "arnica montana" pills. These are pills that I took that helped me with my bruising. I had many comments about how fast my bruising was going away, and I attribute that to me taking arnica montana.

Also check out http://www.makemeheal.com there are some nice things on there.

Scars will take a year to fade (I had my surgery Feb 2006 and they are 95% gone). You should not expose your scars to the sun or they will turn permanently red.

Nipple sensation could take up to a year or more to come back. I had nipple sensation not long after my surgery.

Your final size will also take up to a year, for swelling to go down and for the breasts to finally take a natural shape.

The key word with breast reduction surgery is PATIENCE. Don't expect your size to be final at two weeks post op like I have seen many women complain about. I would worry about size at six months post op and say something to the doctor.

Don't hesitate to call your PS up for any concerns, they are being paid to take care of you!

I have tons of other information, but I'll give you a link to a site that has helped me out TONS before and after surgery for me.

When are you having surgery? Good luck!

I don't know whether you've had children, or want any for that matter, but you may want to wait until you're done breast feeding before having the surgery. I understand that women can have problems with this post-surgery.
