So Verlander isn't playing so hot, should I pick S Olsen or one of these waiver fellas. I have: D Bush, Verlander, Santana, Hill
Available on the wire: Josh Johnson, B Colon, S Olsen, Patterson and Escobar to name a few. I want to beat the rush if it necessary, what do you guys think. Thanks!!

Olsen will pick up the most K's. Escobar is a solid starter for ERA and WHIP. But if you want to play chicken with the waiver wire, pick up Josh Johnson - on 3-31 or 4-1 he will be placed on the DL and you can park him on DL and pick up another pitcher then. I wouldn't be too quick to jump to conclusions about Verlander though, the season hasn't started and usually spring training is about throwing a certain pitch rather than pitching. So the struggles can be a little over hyped by some moron reporters. Unless I hear Leyland talk about sitting him out for 3 or 4 starts, I am going with Verlander as planned.

My advice would be to relax, the season hasn't even started yet. Dropping Verlander at anytime during the season would be a huge mistake. In some cases your pitcher is only as good as the team they play on, and Detroit is solid up and down. Hold tight!

I still wouldnt doubt Verlander. He's a strong pithcer and better than anybody else there, so stick with him and I gurantee you it will pay off in the end. He plays for a fantastic team that can put up runs, so he'll probably still finish with quite a few wins.
