if they want to do it, good for them. i dont personally think its flattering, but if they are confident enough with themselves to put their bodies out there, i dont have a problem with it

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. I see where you are coming from. In spite of what the peanut gallery say, I have not heard you ONCE say they SHOULDN'T. Just that in your opinion it looks terrible. And I have to agree. Whether or not someone has the right to wear something or not doesn't mean it will be attractive on them. To say and believe that you have to believe that every singer on American Idol really CAN sing well. Some are terrible singers but THEY think they can sing. But because they sing lousy they should not be allowed to sing, but by having the right to sing do not make their singing easy on the ears. In the latest reality show where the Pussycat Dolls are searching for another member they are not looking for a fatty, and THEY ARE WOMEN. It is all about presentation. We all want things that look nice. Your meal is much better psychologically if the peas are not in the mashed potatoes. Gravy is not slopped everywhere. The rolls are not soggy etc. In reality, it is all going to the same place so what it looks like on the plate is not going to affect how it eats. Cottage cheese thighs under a mini or cropped tops with rolls of blubber hanging is not attractive any more than the odor of a skunk would be if you but it in a bottle with a rose on the label.

Come ON! Heels? I am a big woman and when I go to pick out heels to wear...I pick them to fit...otherwise I dont wear them! It is obvious that whoever you see wearing these things have no sense of fashion fitting.....BUT give them credit for being comfortable with who they are. That, believe it or not, is emotionally healthy. Also, if companies would make shoes that fit bigger people, we wouldnt have this problem. I wear Ladies 11 WW....so I rarely wear heels because of that..I wish I could find things to fit me, but even if i lost the weight...Id still have boats for feet.
YEAH *Flipper* I know there is more to the question than shoes, but that was my focus. I took the most insulting part of her question. Now dont insult my college education.

Hhaha! I love it! "Baking bread in their shoes." Hahaha, that is the best I've heard by far. I just think that people really should start paying attention to how they present themselves, not just the really obese people, but older people as well. Anyone in their 40's should not, NOT be dressing like they are 19 again, that is just bad taste. Anyone who is stuck in the '80s should find a hairstylist and make-up artist, I mean come on, you shouldn't have to scrape the blush off your cheeks at the end of the night! And as for bigger people, I think that revealing clothing is distasteful. It looks more flattering when they cover up, it makes them look classy.

First of all, I commend bigger ladies when they wear suitable clothing and are confident in their skin and clothes and body.
Second, the ladies you talk about, then yes, it's digusting. However, these ladies love the latest fashion trends, but the fashion does not love them back. They need someone who is close to them, or sometimes even a complete stranger, to tell them what looks good and what looks bad.
Third, If I saw a bigger lady in her 20's wearing what you described, then yes, I would go up to them and say something politely critic-like and offer them suggestions on what would look better. There are some lovely outfits from bigger clothing store chains, but it is demeaning and beats their confidence down. However, they should learn what to wear and how to fit themselves better.

Well. I don't know anyone of any size who dresses like that, but I don't like when any woman wears trashy revealing clothes. It makes them look like trash, and they are only going to attract the wrong guys by dressing like that anyways, so I guess I don't think it's any worse for heavy women to dress that way than skinny women, since I think it looks awful no matter who's wearing it.

Honestly, I think that they, like many others, are merely succumbing to societal pressures which tell women to wear tight-fitting, bare-all clothing. How can anyone assume that a person is immune to peer pressure merely because of weight? Everyone is equally vulnerable, especially as trends move more towards such clothing and loose-fitting clothes are harder to find in anything but sweats.

I say that everyone should dress the way they want to dress, but I DO think that people should dress in a way that is flattering - someone who stuffs themselves into a small belly shirt with their belly fat jiggling or is crammed into pair of short shorts is both unattractive and, apparently, blind.

as long as stuff is truly their size and they don't look obviously tacky.....
I am chesty and I love the bra shelf camisoles. And I don't care what people think. I am not going to be all hot and miserable in the summer heat just because someone else might not think it is appropriate. But I also know that if it really looked bad, I wouldn't go into public. And I like to think that I am my own worst critic.

Honestly...women know when they are too big to wear such things. Before I had my daughter I was 115 at the most and could wear whatever I felt like but now after two kids I know that my fashion has to change. I think that women shoud embrace who they are and stop trying to live in the past. You know what you look good in and there are ways to look good big so find that look. Women like myself who have more than enough to go around should cover up. We can still be classy and big. My kids gave me evry ounce of fat on my body and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Well i hate seeing women who look like greyhounds with no butts trying to wear mini skirts- but i dont judge them cause they are who they are..... I really dont care what anyone else wears- if it looks good on me that is all that matters. Bigs girls have just as much right to be trashy as the needasandwich chicks that walk around all day thinking they are a gift to mankind..
be real
there are more important things going on in the world besides what someone else is wearing. If they are not trying to hook up with you dont worry about it- there are plenty of men who like meat on their sandwich...:0)
