To open up (and be more truthful) with complete strangers?
Why is that?

Yes, I do. They aren't as quick to judge as family are.

I do, especially when I meet them under strange circumstances like at the grocery store at 3am. I think it's because a stranger has no immediate bias towards whatever situation I'm going through, therefore they're more able to give an objective opinion.

yeh, because if u open up with sum1 u kno then ur afraid that person might look at u differently and cause a strain or ackwardness in the relationship while complete stranger would b rather impartial due to not having that long term connection with you.

The same reason we are on yahoo, and reveal more than we would with personal friends, associates. No consequences. Much easier to be honest, open and vunerable with people that cant hurt you. Have a good day.

Of course...it's natural. You aren't emotionally invested in that stranger, so - in a way - you really don't care what they think of you.

Because they dont know your past, they cannot judge you or make assumptions and the odds are you will never see them again

Absolutely, I do that all the time, they don't know you at all, have no pre-judgement, and in the end, you'll probably never see them again.
