Is there such a thing as Universal remote for stereos?

I have a stereo and the remote broke.Is there an universal remote for home stereo systems?

Yes there are several versions on the market. Just make sure that when you are purchasing the remote that the package specifies it is capable of home receiver support. Some models only work for TV, VCR, DVD, Etc, so package description is key to finding the right one.
