I have seen ads for the movie the last mimzy and previews and it looks really interesting. Does anyone have any information about the movie or any good reviews? Tell me anything you know about the movie. Was it a book before it was a movie?

Yes it was a science fiction story, I think it was called "Mimsy were the Borogroves" or something like that. I've read it but I have 100's of sci-fi books so, sorry, I can't go look and tell you the author.
Great story. It'll be interesting to see if the movie does it justice. Basically it was about 2 kids who find toys that are from the future, some scientist tinkering with a time travel machine had sent them back as an expirement in the story. He wasn't trying to deliberately change history, he just wanted to see if he could send something and his kids' old toys were handy. Anyway, the children who find them are changed by them, made smarter.

OK, did a quick google and the story was by Henry Kuttner, C.L. Moore's husband, but written using the alias "Lewis Padgett." It's a short story called "Mimsy Were the Borogoves." It's worth reading, trust me! Excellent story.

It was a great movie!
My boys are 10 and 13 and they loved it. There were several children 5 and under at the theater that cried during several parts of the movie because they were very scared.
It is a great family movie and worth it to see on the big screen instead of waiting for the DVD.

I just saw the "making of mimzy" today, and it looks great. The cast is awesome and it was directed by the guy that runs New Line Cinemas, who seems really talented. The story is about kids' imaginations and possible scientific phenomenon, that many people wonder about, like time travel.The special effects are supposed to be great and I am really looking forward to seeing it.
