I have a Dell Dimention 4600 desktop with a Pentium4 (2.4GHz) running Windows XP Home Edition, and would like to install a TV tuner card so that I can record shows from basic cable.
There are a lot of different cards on the market, so I am a little confused.
Any input on the specifications to look for would be much appreciated. Especially on the included software side.
Thanks!

I use hauppauge pvr150 and love it.
It uses a hardware mpeg2 encoder which takes a lot of strain off your CPU and system resources.

I used to use Beyond TV for software which is very good, but now use Media center with Vista.
You wont get HDTV or channels above 125 though.
