I don't think so. Gothic is a period of architecture and art from germany back in the day, but as far as being like a goth kid, I think it orginates from the movie the Crow that came out in like 1994, which started the goth movement and kind of transformed the 80ish early 90s into the 90s. Emo just means emotional and is in reference to super emotional music that was underground until recently as it has hit the mainstream. Omaha, Nebraska was a hot stop for emo with the start of saddle creek records and things like that, but it's really all over. I'm just talking out my *** though. If you really have to ask, you're probably better off just liking what mtv tells you to.

labels are retarded. There is no goths or emo's, they're both unanimous labels for teenagers these days and they're both so stretched out and overused that neither have any meaning. Every and anything can be emo, let's all grow up a little bit and think of some new words. to answer your question.... yes.....

Gothic has a depressing, slow sound that may indeed make you feel vampish. Emo is just a bunch of whining. Go metal, or at least hard rock!!

No, emo is short for emotionally charged punk-rock, goth is typically someone who dresses in black, free thinkers who like things that are more taboo to normal society. That's how it was explained to me anyway.

first i just gotta start by saying labeling is rediculous
and second no
the "goth" kids hate life they surround them selves with darkness
Emo kids are generally very happ yand people get that wrong they are like " emo kids cut themselves" anyone can cut them selves it doesn't matter what lifestyle they live
goth kids also tend to listen to goth and industrial music
emo kids tend to listen to in my opinion very good music
