Instead of actually making a gift just plan a special outing. Go shopping and get your pictures taken together in one on those photo booths or if you have an amusement park near by go there for a fun day and maybe buy her ticket then buy matching souvenirs. Or make her a picture frame and put a picture of the two of you in it. Something she can always hold onto. A calender will only be used for a year and a note book will only be used till the last page has been written on. If your a whiz on the computer you could also scan pictures of the two of you add some music and give her a burned copy. But more importantly. In years to come shes more likely to remember the special things you did that day vs what you gave her. Oh and for her birthday maybe throw her a party if her parents are not. Pizza popcorn soda and movies.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

There are some excellent suggestions here. I would stay away from pictures because that's what she did for you. Try something different. Maybe your parents will drive you to a movie and you can pay. Read through all the answers on here. They are great ideas for other occasions, too. Have a great birthday with her!

Collect a picture of you together like those happy moments then I really don't know the process but you could have it framed the unique thing would be because of the many pictures and you could also write something about your friend, personalize it so she could hang it on her bedroom.

the glue stuff is called Modge Podge, you can do all sorts of things with it. you could use it to persoanlize a picture frame, the type with a wide frame area. a jewelry box would be good, too. hit the craft store, look through the wood craft items section. there's all kinds of items you can paint and personalize.

a friend of mine once gave me a mix cd with a booklet of pictures of us and a description as to why he picked out the songs to be on the mix. It was really sweet and original...just a thought. Hope it helps.

Does she like candles? A friend of mine once printed pictures of us onto very thin paper and then used special glue (i can't remember what its called) to make a photo collage on a clear glass candle holder. It is so neat when lit up, almost like stained glass
