Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life

offers a search page

where all you have to do is enter a state or an entire region of the U.S. to see a full listing of all the campuses with a Hillel organization. You can even refine your search for various features of the campus environment.

So I agree with the first poster: you can conduct a parallel search by considering the general attributes of a college that meet your other needs, while also verifying that they have a Hillel. However, I wouldn't blame you for not going to a school where you'd have to start your own Hillel. Clearly, that's not the point.

The vast majority of schools that I know about have a Hillel group in some form. My advice would be to pick a school that you like based on academics and the like and then see what sort of Hillel they have. If they don't have one, you could probably start one as well.
