Do not forget - it will be boys as well. !!!
The reason is that most people will watch program like that, say how shocking it is, be affirmed in their view that we live in a sick world, and then get on with their own lives feeling better because someone else is worse off than them.
Because it does not directly affect them, they do not really care. We have become so hardened to violence and degredation by the media and television that most people are not upset at all this, certainly not enough to get off their couch-shaped behinds and take any action.
But most countries do not like this sort of publicity, and if nothing else, the more publicity there is, the more likely the powers that be may clamp down on it.
For anyone that does not regard themselves in the above catagories, seek out organisations that actively expose and oppose these degrading practices. Support them, at least financially, in what they do. Lobby your politicians. Make yourself heard.

I agree with the excersie, we can't do anything without their governments help. There are organisations set up that they rescue girl and put them in safe houses and send them to school. But it is such a big problem that that can't do that for everyone, this doesn't just happen in cambodia. India is pretty bad, I saw a documentry on it. It's happening around the world. I think everybody's government need to step up and say enough is enough.

Too many gus grow up without a father and as a consequence they never really learn what is right or wrong. We need to put an end to the deasease called divorce and less boys will grow into men that see no wrong in wrongness if it results in instant gratification for them or even look down upon others helping others calling them captain saveaho.

Outrage isn't and never has been enough. Nations work for the self interest of their own nation. Why are we in Iraq and not in Darfur? But,also, to be fair, what ios Cambodia doing to help its people? Where's the outrage there?

Cambodia needs help to rehabilitate its war torn country. Once the economy is repaired the need for desparate employment opportunities will no longer be necessary.
Sadly in war it is the women and children who are most vulnerable.
To create another war is not the answer. To create an economy is the peaceful resolution.
If we each do our part, as exampled by say theworldteam.com then we can slowly start to see change effect a community.

I am outraged...and you're right, we need to do more. I know there are human rights groups out there (such as Amnesty International) that are advocating to bring more awareness to the issue and trying to get laws passed to help these children...male and female. Donating to these groups would be a start.

Wow! Did you see that other show about groups within the united states saling unwanted children to these countries. Some big time organizations in the united states, (foster children) were involved.

Most people are really only concerned about what's happening in their own little world. Americans tend to live in a bubble, too. I mean, most people are too busy watching American Idol or Desperate Housewives to really care about what's going on in the world. Too many people only care about what's going on in their lives.
