If it works right, how will I get the money? And, usually how long does it take? Do you think it's legitimate? This puts a risk on both parties. I don't want to make it look like I've scammed the buyer when I have a legitimate item for them to buy. What do you think?

The dress is a long story. I was engaged, bought the dress and then two weeks later he left more for his current wife. This happened five years ago. Just need to get rid of it and make some cash!

This guy is buying it for his sister as a wedding gift. He works offshore near Washington state and doesn't have access to his bank except through use of this account. This is the only form of payment and he's willing to pay alot for it including shipping. His sister lives in Africa - you might of seen my other question about packing it. I'm just curious!

I've never heard of Stormpay. But the real questions is...
Why do you want to sell your wedding dress?

I'd ask for a postal money order, if I was selling anything to someone I didn't know. That's assuming they're in the U.S. By requesting this kind of money order, your personal information will be safe, especially if you have them send it to a P O Box address.

If you have them send you a personal check, chances are that your bank account information (from depositing it) and your signature could get back to them because of having check images with their statements. Also a personal check could bounce.

Put the burden on them. If they really want the dress, they'll do it. After all, there's a post office close to nearly everyone.

StormPay is an electronic money auction payment processor run by Stormpay Incorporated, a Clarksville, Tennessee, United States company founded in October 2002 by John R. McConnell, Jr. and the CEO, Steve Girsky. It allows anyone with an e-mail address to buy or sell StormPay Auction items after opening an online account.

Funding/Depositing
The currency used in accounts is United States dollars. A StormPay user can fund their account with an online check, money order, or by clicking on sponsored links, purchased by StormPay members themselves, in the StormClix section of the StormPay website. StormPay (and NetIBA) have also paid commissions for referring new members to the payment process or verification system.

Looks like you can have funds directly deposited to your bank or have them mail a check to you.

I would use Ebay !!

Never heard of it. I would only accept from WELL KNOWN companies for a payment type. I would ask them why this is the only way they can pay. Have them send Western Union or a MONEY ORDER would be much better.
