Why is it that there are so many obnoxious people?

Why do people feel that it necessary to give stupid responses to simple questions?

I've expierienced this in school, on the interenet, etc...

People always have to give a response that is not logical and does not answer the question at all, just for the sake of looking like they are above everyone. Why?

I hate when these people tell what I can and can't do...They treat me as if I'm stupid. Well, I hate to rain on their parade but even though I'm young, I'm smart enough to see right through them.

Ok, everybody is giving me philosophical answers. Awesome. But, why do people feel the need to give inappropriate answers?

(ie: I asked a question about the best neuropsychology college...and the most detailed response I got was this (here is a quote): "well, I reccomend austin, tx community college to start... they have a really good, nursing program. It is top rated program. Then from there you can go to their state college which will allow you to get as high in medicine as perhaps being in charge of 4 or 5 other females. I would like to give you more info, but I don't believe that women should ever make good money, have a degree, own anything, or be more important than a man. If you don't feel good after a little community college then you are reaching way too high. Just have some kids and make dinner for you husband. Wait are you ugly? Look ugly girls can get themsleves a man too, you just have to get knocked up.... the key is to be easy. Good luck, hope you get it figured out.

some people are obnoxious bc they are in a bad mood, but then again, some people are obnoxious bc thats the way that they were brought up. there will always be people like that in the future especially when you have a job...for me my parents are worse

If you ask a question, expect a whole host of answers. If you expect a variety, the dumb ones won't offend you so much.

And sometimes people repeatedly see the same question, so they get a little irritable. Give those answers the weight they derserve.

If you submit your question under "Education and Reference" into the "University +" section, you will likely get more educated responses.

The Psychology section seems to be a catch-all for life experience (which is why I like it), but if you are hoping to gain information about prestigious schools with your preferred major, it would be good to ask in the education section.

And as for the stupid answer that you got, there are some in every crowd. 9 out of 10 answerers seem to be legitimately trying to help. Try not to let the obnoxious ones get to you.

Its great that you do not think you are stupid, because i often find that the word stupid is really quite a useless word for getting me anywhere when i am trying to understand some else's point of view.

I always like to try and loose this word and say instead, people have different ways of looking at the same thing. If we stop calling anyone stupid we can sometimes find out why people see things the way they do. Understanding other peoples perceptions is a good way to learn. That's just one of the benefits of dropping the word stupid from my vocabulary.

I would also suggest that it can be hard sometimes to stop comparing ourselves with everyone else. Perhaps its best to say , why should we always see ourselves as above or below anyone else?

is it ok to be just who we are?

I agree there are a lot of obnoxious answers (and questions) on the YA, but I think it is a recreational medium for a lot of people.

I know a lot people ask very serious and heart rendering questions here and It's just a lack of class and concern when the fools respond insincerely.

But there are a lot of good and helpful answers. Laugh off the other guys.

The same thing at school, the insecure kids will be the worst at responding, just feel sorry for them.
