Why do people hate politicians so much?

Gee that's a generalisation if ever I saw one.
There is a good possibility that pollies start off with altruistic leanings, but in time they get caught up in the deviancy cycle of those around them, coupled with the lure of power and a whopping big pension on retirement.
Maybe this is the reason that some pollies cop all the abuse, and to a lesser degree-assassination.

Public opinion is always low of people in politics.
In the USA on the national level politicians make law that we have to live by but they dont.
For instance they make laws concerning health care or social security yet they dont pay into social security and have a very very nice benefits package.
I guess its similar to why people often are disgruntled against police. They are supposed to uphold the law yet seem to think they are above it sometimes.

While there are good ones there is more than enough bad ones to embitter people.
We see politicians vote themselves raises, and then raise taxes and that does not put a smile on your face when your the one taxed.

What I have explained is just the tip of the iceberg of it all.

Just the word politicians sends shivers up my spine. They are the pinnacle of 2 facedness. They tell you what you want to hear, to get elected, then do what the highest payer wants. You can not find PUBLIC servants anymore, to much politics in politicians

I don't think people hate politicians.
I do think people tend to paint different scenarios so they can understand how a particular politician will behave. It's sort of like putting a chameleon on an iridescent fabric and watching them spaz. The hope is to see the true color of the animal.

Easy people don't like being told what to do. Everyone hates the fact that they arn't the ones in control. Plus it's easy to blame someone else for other peoples problems. It's a matter of princepal

Because politicians have just built up a reputation for, well, doing things just for their reputation. They seem to always want to improve their own standings in life or they try to push through legislation that doesn't benefit the general public.

I don't hate them but most people do as soon s they find out they lied about something or shall we say, they extended the truth? Fact is, if they weren't politicians they just wouldn't have gotten caught at the lying that most of us do at some point or another.

A better question is WHY would anyone choose to serve their fellow citizens as an elected official & expose themselves to stereotyped insulting labels from folks who would never dream of serving themselves!! There mostly all capitalistic pigs who stink when they molest children do drugs take bribes and are controlled by the big business interests,the military war machine which takes half our taxes .and of course the j=ws
have you noticed if anyone in the federal government says ONE word against the J=ws then they get them demoted, taken off committees, and don't get reelected.
