However, the best thing to watch about the Civil War has to be Ken Burn's documentary "The Civil War" from 1990. I was only 9 when it originally came on, but it was truly one of the most amazing pieces of work I've ever seen. It wasn't even like a documentary, it was almost like you were there.

Ironclads had great specific effects, yet became susceptible on the certainly tale; Glory became merely an magnificent movie all around; Gettysburg became additionally nicely performed (Jeff Daniels deserved an Oscar) yet became long winded and the beards might have been extra useful; the final (Silent; 1927) with Buster Keaton is an magnificent rendition of an certainly journey from the conflict. The Outlaw Josey Wells isn't strictly a Civil conflict movie, even though it occurs for the time of the form, yet is Clint Eastwood at his ideal.

as a southerner Gods and Genrals, gettyburg is the second novel, but came out first as a mini ser. The money behind both was Ted Turner. Another good one is Andersonville. about the northern prisoners, which was also done by Turner. Glory would be the best, but it only show a small piece of what happened. most of the other moivies people said are older, before 1990 and aren't graphic, or well shot, but the story is there, like North and South, I, II, or the blue and the grey. all of which were mini ser.

I really liked Gods and Generals. It wasn't one sided like most movies about the Civil War. It was more balanced.

"Glory" starring Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Cary Ewels, Matthew Broderick Is my favorite civil war movie because it's based on a true story about a all black regiment fighting for the North.
