Easiest way is to look back at the deed history of the property to where the builder deeded it over to the first owner. Those are all recorded documents that are public record.

The county courthouse should have an official sealed blueprint of the building. With this information you should find the builder. As well as a multitude of other recorded information about the home.

search the city records for permit issued that address. in Canada it can be done on line at the municipal website. you would have to check your municipality.
