I get confused when to use treble or rythmn pick ups or use both. In my opinion the guitar sounds best always when on treble so its only using the neck pickup right?

If you have a "treble" and "rhythm" p/u that's labeled, then you probably have a Gibson, or Epiphone, right?

Hard rockers and metallers sometimes only have a bridge pickup (treble), even for heavy riffs, so don't let the name rhythm fool you

I always played on my bridge pickup, and that is the treble, not the other way around.

For bluesy solos, use the neck pickup. I know that's funny because its called a rhythm, but it has a mellower "airier" sound. Select the middle to use both pickups; try turning one tone up and one all the way down if you have dual tone knobs. That is, if you have a Gibson.

The main rule is if it sounds good, do it to it. There are no rules in real art, including music...

Hope this helps, Lee

The bridge pickup! Tap it with your pick & you'll hear it!
