I had one in Santa Cruz I also had a deep fried Snickers (not so good for your heart) they were great. I hate to say that, but they were a warm yummy mess! The batter almost tatsted like a funnel cake, or some type of cake batter. I just know they were good, eat too many and they will make you sick!

there's a on line casino in previous downtown Vegas that sells Deep Fried Twinkies and Deep Fried Oreos (mmmm!) and likewise Deep Fried Bananas. i don't understand how they do it, or what the batter is, even although that's great reliable!

They are batter dipped and fried till golden... very yummy once they cool down!
I work in a resturant and during slow times we have fun with food, batter and the deep fryer.
So far we have fried & tried.. Oreos, pickles, crab, lemons, oranges, rice balls, mac n cheese, a servers apron (ok, we didn't try that one), apples, corn on the cob and several others.
The oreos, mac n cheese and crab rocked!! The rest was pretty gross.

I know they make them at the fair sometimes, but sounds like a waste of a good Twinkie to me! Not to mention sounding very unhealthy!!!

Yes, at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. They are batter dipped in a flour and corn starch mix. They are pretty darn good.

Flour, egg, and vinegar (the egg acts as the binder)
Though I would like to agree with Arual.
