I still don't know whether I like her or not, but I sure admire her huge self confidence, which certainly has contributed to make her even richer than she was.

It doesn't matter wether she's dumb or not, she portrays herself as being dumb, or at least doesn't stop the press portraying her as being dumb which amounts to much the same thing.
As for earning millions by being herself: well personally I couldn't tell you anything that she's done or been involved with, but as I don't watch a lot of TV, never read the tabloid press and couldn't care less about "celebrities" I'm not one of the millions worldwide who ensure she gets paid to appear on TV. Not that it matters, as first heir to the Hilton fortune I don't suppose she'll ever be short of spending money!
I'm sure there will come a time in her life when she would like to be taken seriously, and the press has almost limitless articles that will be dragged out to undermine anything serious she undertakes.
I don't understand the whole celebrity thing, we have people who are classed as celebrities because they are seen with celebrities - how does that make them worthy of note?

Her 'huge self confidence' as you call it is down coccaine. Coccaine gives you the self confidence for the moment but eventually she'll end up a squirming wreck just like Britney, Robbie, Tara Palmer and all the rest of them who can't even walk out the front door without a snort of the old showbiz sherbert. Just because you are rich it doesn't mean you lead a happy fulfilled life, in fact too much money ruins these idiots because they believe in their own publicity and come to earth with a very large bump.

You shouldn't confuse self-confidence with arrogance. She was born into privilege so I'm sure that her so-called Paris Hilton business has been contrived and manipulated into success by the team behind the Hilton Brand.

Paris Hilton is a socialite. She gets paid money to come to parties and events and clubs because she brings a crowd because she is always followed by the paparazzi. Magazines and paparazzi love her because she causes gossip and problems that people who like celebrity gossip feed on, creating business for their magazines. Because I dont know her personally, I cant say for a fact that shes dumb, but she certainly acts like a dumbass. And shes not very talented, and is not making money for being talented, just being in the spotlight for being a socialite.

I don't know if she really "earned" it as you say. She just does whatever sales, It's called being a media whore, I didn't even know who she was until the whole sex tape thing came about. She's probably not as confident as you think, I'm sure she has normal problems just like everyone else.

Just because she is being paid ungodly amounts of cash, doesn't mean she's smart either. It just goes to show the level of intelligence in our country. If we are so simple minded that we choose her as our source of entertainment, does that make us any smarter than her. Sad, sad, sad. She's not even the one who hires the publicists who market and sell her.

I think she's yet another sad and lonely little rich girl. she has absolutely nothing to do when she wakes up each morning except go out and try and get photographed.

who knows if she just plays dumb or if she really is. wouldnt that be funny though if she was actually the smartest woman on the planet and it was her genius plan to make herself seem dumb in order to get rich!? lol. but she does have a lot of confidence... a little too much if you ask me because most people i know dont even like her... including me. and as for her being labeled as "dumb" she did that on her own. seriously... have you watched her or at least heard her talk? its quite sad...
