I thought i heard that we picked up Carl Crawford, and that Marcus Giles had left. Crawford will make a difference, but losing Giles can hurt a lot. What is the roster like???

Marcus Giles was allowed to leave as a non-tendered free agent. He signed with San Diego.

The Braves did not get Carl Crawford. Never even close.

Their main pickups were Rafael Soriano - a good relief/setup man, and Mike Gonzalez, Pittsburgh's closer. Plus, we re-signed Wickman, so he'll be #1 closer, with Gonzalez to back him up.

Kelly Johnson is being given shot at 2B. Scott Thorman will be the 1st baseman if he can hit at all, with Craig Wilson (another new pickup) as backup/platoon 1B against lefties.

Marcus Giles joined his brother Brian in San Diego. The Braves picked up relief pitcher Mike Gonzalez from the Pirates (for Adam LaRoche).

Giles went to san diego. The Braves have not picked up any name players that i know of. Kelly Johnson, formerly of the outfield, is now on the infield {probably 2nd base}. Laroche went to Pittsburgh. Who`s at 1st?

Marcus - gone. His replacement is Kelly Johnson, he is coming back from Tommy John surgery. The bull pen is the big upgrade. And the rest is from the farm system. The core of the team remains but some of the new players are the young up coming Braves and they are good players.
