ohhh...tough one. both are great in their own right.
But I would have to say Animal House. It's funnier.

Never saw fast times. Animal House was probably the funniest movie I ever saw.

Cameron Crowe is one of the best movie writers and directors in the English-speaking world (there's some great French directors too LOL)

They are both pretty good and it's a close call, but I'd say "Animal House" primarily because of John Belushi.
