yesterday i had to be taken to the E.R. because I had started bleeding. I am almost 10 weeks pregnant. They told me that the cause was "threatened miscarriage and they gave me an ultra sound. We saw baby and heartbeat, and everything looked to be fine.My cervixs was completely closed. Since then,I have stopped bleeding, until i go to urinate, then I sometimes may start spotting a little. I have had no pains, only the usual headaches and the very (very) tiredness that I have felt. This is my fourth pregnancy,I have 3 healty children and my last pregnancy i had some bleeding, just as much, but at 17 weeks and then again at 27 weeks. The doctors kept me overnight but the bleeding suddenly stopped and i was fine. I have to return to the doctor within 2 days for another ultrasound and bloodwork. my question to you is: Does this sound like a normal "threatened miscarriage",( i know everyone is different)

Hi, i had the same exact episode but i was 16 weeks pregnant. You should ask and see if your placenta is low. Imean i was bleeding heavily and at the ER they said they would admit me if the bleeding did not stop. Even at 20 weeks , at the ultrasound the doc said my placenta is still low. If it remains low at about 30 weeks, then I have to have a scheduled c section. I had no cramping or pain, just heavy bleeding and the docs tell you no sex when you have this. I suggest you ask because your situation sounds identical to what happened to me they said the same thing to me, threatened abortion they called it though, i wanted to strangle the people at that hospital .

I went through the same thing! It was so scary! It sounds very very normal. . . try not to worry, I did enough of it for the both of us :P I was about 6 weeks pregnant and I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood, but just a streak. I went straight to the doctor and everything was as you said. It quit that night, but for about 3-4 days I had some discoloration, but not any cramps which was weird because I had cramped the whole time before that. I am now 10 weeks and 4 days. . I STILL go to the bathroom to make sure I am not bleeding! Just no sex or heavy lifting. . I just layed on the couch for a week. good luck with it and I think everything will just fine! :)

My third pregnancy I experienced some spotting that turned to cramping and bleeding. I went to the E.R. from work and was diagnosed with possible implantation bleeding , but my discharge papers read threatened amiscarriage. I was so scared. I Was sent home after a few hours with light cramping. I spotted some dark to brown and that was it. I had a beautiful baby boy almost 4 months ago. Some say that they don't even feel implantation bleeding=, but I did. I saw a healthy looking baby on my ultrasound at the hospital too and I had that wonderful baby.Good :uck. And don't stress that isn't good for either of you.

I had this when pregnant with my fourth baby and it was extremely frightening because I'd already lost two babies. I lost a lot of blood (don't mean to be disgusting but it was pouring from me). I also had a scan and everything was fine and I was told that in a few days the blood would turn to a brown colour (which it did) meaning that it was no longer fresh.
I had to rest for about a week and then go back to the hospital for another scan just to make sure everything was ok.
The result of this pregnancy is now sitting on my lap helping me to type :)

I bled too. During the first few weeks. Brown mostly and only a few spots on my pad everyday....though there were times I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and there would be red blood on the tissue. My doc kept a close eye on me at this time. She used the words "threatened miscarriage" to me too. She would put me on bed rest for a few days when I had red blood. It went away eventually and the baby is fine. It's called a subchorionic hemorrhage...and alot of woman get them. Just keep close with your doc so she can keep an eye on everything. God Bless and Good Luck.
