I don't know of any resources for you but I will say that I do believe people can become hooked on thier religon. I had a freind that went from hard core drug use, had a life altering experience, to devout Christian. There was not a day that went by that he did not step in a church. He had a very addictive type personality.

True addiction is when you get really sick in every way possible when you stop doing what causes the addiction.
Religion is a choice for one thing, not a substance that alters your chemistry.
Over zealous and possibly brain washed may looked to you like addiction, but I have been addicted to narcotics for 66 years and I know what true addiction is. It isnt up to you any more, you need your substance or you want to be dead it hurts so much, I dont know of any one that is affected to the point of suicide with religion.
The applegate freaks were basically fooled and brainwashed by a human into believing and doing what they did. It had nothing to do with religion.

Yea, a person can be addicted to anything. of the things I didn't see listed is: fighting, abuse (to self or from others or to others), stealing, porn...just to name a few. you want a refrence? go to a bookstore like borders and hit the psychology section. look around for a while you could start with personality profiling

There are all types of addictions: alcohol, drugs, eating, sex, gambling, computer addiction, and those are just off the top of my head. I believe people CAN be addicted to religion.
