He's hit almost 120 HRs and drove in over 350 runs in 3 years for the Yankees. Sure, he had 2 bad postseasons, but it is only a small sample. He did have a very good postseason in 2004. If he leaves after this year, NY will not find another 3B as productive as him.

Just leave him alone and let him play!

Oh boy, do I agree with you. As a Cubs fan, I'd love to see him opt out after this year and re-join Lou on the North Side! We'll let him play SS too!!!!! But since that probably won't happen.....

People are jealous of the guy and the NY media won't let him take a leak without reporting on it. It takes a certain psyche to survive in NY. Jeter - got it. A-Rod - doesn't. Simple as that. The fans are idiots, and I know I'll take some heat from Yank fans on this, but after they have run him out of town, they will regret it. "Not clutch", "meaningless RBI's", "fails in the postseason" - I've heard it all. Maybe if the guy didn't feel like he had to try so hard just to avoid getting booed, he could relax and do his job. Which is routinely 40 HR's, 120 RBI's, .300+ average and 15 SB's. And still a bunch of prime years left. Go ahead, Yank fans - run him off. We'll take him in a heartbeat!! The guy is a special player.

When you make $27,000,000 a year in New York that's hard to do.

The Yankees have money clutch performers in Jeter and Rivera who are paid top dollar for it. New York fans expect the same out of A-Rod.

New York is a tough place to play just ask Roberto Alomar who went through the same thing when he was with the Mets.

Show up and earn your keep is all the fans are asking considering they are paying for the tickets and salaries.

A very good post season in 2004????? That was the biggest collapse in the history of sports AND A-ROD LED THE WAY!!!!! The only time that guy can hit is when everyone on the team is hitting and nobody cares about A-Rod's hitting.

Regular season doesn't mean anything to the Yankees. They will make it to the playoffs with or without A-Rod. If he can't produce in the playoffs he is of no value to this team.

DE-REK!!! JE-TER!!!

On the other hand, even though he had a good year, last year was the least productive one of his career.

I knew he wouldn't hit up to his career numbers for the Yankees. Right handed hitters in Yankee Stadium never do.

I agree with you....people in New York are idiots for not accepting him for what he is.I know if he were with the Cubs,he would be the most popular athlete in town.Look at how popular Soriano is already. As long as he plays hard,I dont think the money is as big a deal here.

I agree. He is a great player. I don't get on his case that much. I get disappointed, but I don't hate the guy. Hopefully, he will do well in the postseason this year.

People cant leave him alone because he is whats wrong with professional sports, asking for huge money then not performing when he's needed,he is a cancer to any team he has ever played for and I'm so glad the yanks got him instead of the sox.

Because NY fans are stupid and because he doesn't perform well in the playoffs. If he was in LA for example, the city would love him and he would probably be relaxed and dominate in the post season.
