I've poured tons of it and without knowing your details at all, GET PRE mixed first of all...Then any number of methods can be used
A 5 gallon bucket and a strong drill with a stirrer. Rent a mixer from a big box store
Mix the bag into a wash tub.
I've even mixed it(with help) for deck footers in a heavy duty tarp just swishingthe mix around, 4 corners held up like a hammock.
Do pre mix, it's so much easier and just as valid after the fact.

You need all of the basic mixtures: cement, water, sand, and 3/4 inch stone (average size). For every part of cement that you use, you want 2 parts sand and stone. So if you're mixing only a little, start with a shovel-full of cement, and 2 shovels-full of both sand, AND stone. Then add water and mix together until the mixture becomes a thick liquid. There you go! Good luck!

See all the above, and hire a sturdy college boy who needs money to do the mixing, lifting and pouring for you! :)

pretty much what jack says. can use a shovel too. maybe rent a mixer if your doing 40+ bags. trouble with large jobs and hand mix or small mixer- you have to keep it pretty wet so it doesnt dry on you.

Depends on how much your going to do. If it's just filling post holes, buy quick set, and just mix it right in the hole.

you want it to be like cake mix. the wetter it is, the more it will shrink when it dries.
