I would guess between 130 to 200 days depending on if they used horses, had wagons, or walked.

I just guessing. With circumstances of crossing rivers and Grand Canyons etc. maybe 1-1.5 years. I would figure if it a small amount of people they should average 10 miles a day, surely. 4000/10=400 days So, 1-1.5 years.
I can go 30 miles on a horse in a day easy walking the horse. But, that not crossing Rivers, and Canyons and cutting trees that in the way.

By horseback, one of the most common methods of transport, you could do about 70 miles per day, getting fresh horses along the way and stopping to rest every night. So 4000 miles divided by 70/day = 57 days minimum.
