It's always goodie two shoe stuff that was obviously not written by the people that supposedly ask it.

Moreover, the "Yahoo answer staff" helped in selecting the best answer? Give me a break.

Why not just admit that this is a publicity stunt where they were able to obtain permission from the celebrities to ask their name?

Am I the only one who is a little annoyed by this?

It's usually called "special feature" and it is making me sick.

I also wouldn't exclude Hawking. Neither him, nor his staff read all answers, plus the question is obviously a little naive. We are doing better than ever. Socially, economically, etc.

If Hawking was true to his colors, he should have asked a physics question. Science is extremely particularized, these days. Knowledge and thinking in one field travels very poorly into others. He is not an expert on social policy.

They probably are fake. I never answer them. It's none of their business what I think. I wonder how often people report these celebrity questions. You know the Yahoo celebrity azz-kissers wouldn't give them a violation.

Well said. Yeah, I agree. You are not the only one a little annoyed by this, but you know, water off a duck's back is a good philosophy. I would like to name an exception though: Stephen Hawking came through. It could be that he already had in mind the video he was going to make as a result of his question (which if he did, that's okay too). No matter, I thought his question contributed to this forum in a great way, and my hat is off to him. But for the most part, "goodie two shoe stuff" is dead bang right on.

I wouldn't say the questions are "fake", but I would say they are the result of an agenda. Have you noticed how many times Hillary Clinton has asked a "deeply thought provoking" question lately? Hmm...could it have something to do with the fact that she's running for PRESIDENT?? I seriously doubt if she gives a rat's rear end about the so-called 'relevant' issues...she simply wants us to think she does. Duh...she wants our vote.

There's always a hidden agenda where celebrities are concerned. Don't lose sleep over it. It's only entertainment.

YES. The first time I saw one of these on the front page, I was like omg this famous person (I can't remember who) came on here and asked a question! and then it was something lame like "How can we improve the enviornment and stop global warming?". LIKE WHO CARES.

I want real questions, like Britney Spears coming up on here and asking if everyone likes her new haircut ha ha. or Jessica Simpson on here asking "Is this tuna or chicken?"

Now I don't even pay attention to celebrity questions because they are not very interesting and I bet they don't have any clue whatsoever that their picture is even up on this site, much less what question was asked.

I am also annoyed.
Yahoo people are trying to be extra smart. They take us as insects who will go berserk at seeing celebrity question. I feel if you like to enjoy yahoo answers and dont want to make fool of yourself, dont answer celebrity questions. Moreover all celebrity questions are "i-am-so-concerned-about-the-world" kind. As if they do really have time to waste on these kind of things and yahoo-answers. They are disgusting. Avoid them.

It's advertising. I'm sure they purchased the spot and wrote the canned statement to push their message. I'd read through them, but WOW are they long!

Propaganda at its finest....somehow I wouldn't put it past yahoo to do something like that, but whatever.

It does not really bother me because I do not think about it
