There are some quotes just not worth quoting, but I would not agree in any event, because if you kept gloves in the glove compartment like you were supposed to, then there WOULD be something in there to keep your fingers warm.

I agree with that but when I think of the name glove compartment I think of a place to keep your gloves and who the hell keeps their gloves there?

The glove compartment is the vehicular version of the junk drawer that everybody seems to have in their kitchen. That's were you keep the tire pressure gage, the car manual, misc. receipts and other useless knick knacks.

The original purpose of a "glove compartment" was to store, you guessed it, gloves.

Perhaps we could consider a baseball glove for a moment... it is designed for "catching" right? So then, a glove compartment is designed for "catching" things that would otherwise be scattered about inside your vehicle.

It's a "glove compartment", not a "finger compartment!"

ahh ur funny. snort i think that is derived from the old days when it was a luxury to have a car. people didn't use cars that much so there wasn't any need to put anything in there.people used to mainly use it for putting their gloves in it when they went to and fro. that's my opinion. sounds good

I disagree. It is just the right size for gloves.
