Use liquid ant bait by (terro) orange box. It works the best. It won't get rid of all of them, but if you bug bomb in the spring and put this bait out it works better then an exterminator. I live in a trailer so I've tryed everything else this is the best ant product you can get.

Your first line of defense is to treat the outside with products you can find easily at Hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowes). Second, find what exactly is attracting them inside...ants are able to walk a mile just for a piece of candy left on a side table so make sure all your foods are stored in good container. Also, it's a good time to check and repair any cracks in and around your house foundation and prune/trim the plants/bushes.

I have found diatomacious earth works well for me. You can buy it at any hardware store. It is not a poison per se. It is the skeletons of small sea creatures that are hard and sharp and are small as dust. If they walk across it they die as ants have ectoskeltons it cuts them and they die. they also take it to the nest. When doing so they usually cause the death of the queen and the nest dies. The spray poisons only kill the ones you spray but there are thousands in the nest. Your target is to kill the nest. Do not dig or disturb the nest, all that will do is make them move to another parth of your house.

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water.

The responder who told you about Terro outdoor ant baits is right. They work very well! They last about three months then need to be replaced. You must get the ants at their source and that is outside. You must also get the queen to end the colony. Terro will do this!
