I think you should do both, I mean you only have the chance to play high school sports once in your life. I play 4 sports, Football, Basketball, Track, and Baseball. I lift whenever I can. I am not a natural athlete and am 5'11 and 145 lbs. and I just work hard. I play QB/WR/CB in football, I start at Corner and am 2nd string QB/WR. I go to a big school too! In basketball I play Shooting Gaurd and start there. I run an 11.4 100 meter dash, and I am 2nd base for our baseball team.
My advice is to do whatever you want and have fun doing it. If you want to be successful work really hard for football, and play lacrosse just for fun. Football is my main sport as well and I will be throwing the ball or practicing my routes during Basketball season and over the summer. I play the other sports mainly to stay in shape for football, but to also have fun and not be a person who Eats, Sleeps, Lifts, and Runs. It isn't so importent to me that I don't have fun in my High School Years. I owe all my success to hard work and effort. If you have seen my JumpShot you would know i wasn't born an Athlete.
Just have fun and don't get to worked up about it, otherwise you will think about it instead of doing something about it.
Choose something, and stick with it!
Hope This Helps!

There are two trains of thought here. First, Concentrating on one sport often makes a person better in that sport for obvious reasons. On the other hand, If you enjoy Lacrosse and Football, you only go around once in life, so enjoy your time in high school and play both. You might not be able to lift with the team, but your aerobic endurance could be enhanced by Lacrosse.
When I was in high school, I was forced to choose between football and basketball. Since my school was a perennial powerhouse in football and rather lousy at basketball, I ended up playing football. To this day, I regret having to choose one over the other. If I were you, I would go with both, since you can. Years from now, you will be able to look back on BOTH experiences, and my guess is they will be fond memories.

Honestly, if football is serious for you, and you want to get a scholarship, you should lift weights atleast 3 times a week. Its very important. Its helps so much. If you can balance both, I would do it.
Also, my highschool had a class for our football program. It was a gym class only it was all football players. They did this the last period of the day. All the football players would workout Monday, Wednsday, and Friday, and on Tuesday and Thursday we would do Football drills. Running, jump rope, cone work, and 40 testing once a month. Ask your coach about it. Ask him to work something out with the school for this. It really helped us.

well lacrosse will defintaly help your enduracne and your speed, and you can always lift after practices, or before practices and on the weekends. Last year i played four sports, baseball football swim and tennis, they all had their advatages for eachother and their disadvatages, for swim we would lift, and for baseball and for football, so during tennis season i would wake up at 525 so i could get a good workout in before school to stay with strength. and always remember, the more sports you play the better atlelte you become.

One very good example of the two sports mixing well is Jim Brown - all-American lacrosse player at Syracuse.I think he played football, too!

Yeah they are. If you play football I suggest basketball or wrestling in the winter and baseball or lacrosse in the spring.
