Making it short, in Russia the people became tired of their lot in life while the Czar and his family had vast land holdings, palaces, and all the accouterments that go with it. Peasants or serfs were actually slaves as they never made enough money to leave and go elsewhere to find a decent living. Meanwhile, this is, of course, connected to the politics of the time and made the Bolsheviks decide without a revolution they would never change a thing.

It took awhile, but they finally killed the entire Czar's family, so no heirs could say that they wanted the throne. For awhile the populace thought that Anastasie had escaped and that was a lovely romantic story, but not real. She was killed as well. A man named Ivan the Terrible was a side story of the Czar's children and his wife.

The overthrow of the Tsarist government (the ruler then was Nikolai Romanov II) in Russia in November 1917 (October in the Gregorian calender) & the beginning of the Soviet government.

The revolution was led by Vladimir Ilich Lenin & Leon Trotsky & was named Bolshevik because of the mass support it gathered (Bolshevik means "majority" in Russian)

The Bolshevik Revolution took place in 1917 in Russia by Lenin and his followers. These people would be the instigators of the USSR and Communism as we know it today.

look it up on the net, but in bird eye view, it was the october revolution against the Zar, the Russian royal family, which they also killed actually, it started in the first world war that russia was involve so it was part of the reason for the revolution, started by Lenin, Loen Trosky who formed the red army and stalin who killed Trosky after Lenin died becuase he wanted the power for himself.........but that is not it, the bolsheviks also fought against the mencheviks who were another part of the revolutionaries but with other objectives....so bassically it was againts the mencheviks for the control of the country (who also fought against the Zar). Rasputin is also killed in the revolution period, he was the zarina councelor.........................and I see in the answers that nobody mentions the mencheviks.....carefull they were also a big part of the history in the revolution

the end of the Romanov dynasty and therefore the end of monarchy. Rasputin was able to brainwash the entire country into thinking the Romanovs were evil. The emperor Nickolas, his wife Alexandria and their children were all murdered so the government could move to democracy. Before the revolution, the emperor and empress had great infulence, during, they lost it all.
