Everywhere you go there is so much hate, when it's not necessary and doesn't get you anywhere. When will the world be a safe place for everyone who lives on it no matter who or what they are?

There is hate because there are people who feel inferior, people who feel hurt and frightened, and people who feel humiliated. They turn those feelings into hate of other people.

It is doubtful that we will be able to overcome all of these dilemmas, primarily because many times these feelings are spawned from early childhood.

However, by promoting peace and acceptance as the normative value, rather than competition and exclusion, we will go a long way toward bringing about a better planet and community.

Patriot, Robert S,,there are quite a few people on here that spread hatred, bigotry, and they seem to get a thrill out spewing venom against any race other then there own. I do not have the answers others then if everyone did their small part to make the world a better place we would all live in a happy world. Usually the bigots are usually raised in the same, small towns, not alot of exposure to people other then their own "kin" Education usually opens the hearts and the minds of its people. Be proud of who you are, the bigoted, the ignorant their souls will start rotting from the inside out and eventually the ugliness of their souls will show on their face. Dont worry.

There's so much hate because there's a lack of understanding and there's also fear of understanding. Some people find it easy to hate what they aren't accustomed to something or don't want to understand it. I don't think our world will ever be "safe" but if it weren't for all of the bad things in life how could we have anything good? Sometimes having bad things in life just make you appreciate the good things in life.

Hatred is as old as any other emotion, and there will never be a world without hate. Hatred towards someone other than oneself is usually ignored since it does not directly affect their lives.

Although this quote is over 60 years old, it shows how little has been accomplished towards any attempt towards understanding or acceptance towards others.

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.
-Martin Niemöller, Lutheran Pastor, Nazi Germany, 1945

Bless you, Dearest, it'll always be lurking around...sort of the same way we always seem to have those nasty Trolls sneaking their ways on here. Just be a Candle for Good and for Kindness and people will always be attracted to your light rather than to their darkness. The World will be safe when we can hopefully make it so...and we will eventually. We just have to keep hoping. Blessings.

You would think that it being 2007 that we would have crossed all of those bridges long ago. Sadly, there are still those who feel superior over another race. People like them are bigots and jerks. I'm not sure racism will ever completely go away. How sad.

No simple answer here. Hate is a primal emotion that's wired into our psyche. I am afraid that it'll be with us as long as we exist as a species.

I suspect there always will be hate.. Not to sound negative--but have you noticed any difference over the centuries?
