I work for a grocery distributrion center(union), and one of our independant stores has repeadidly had expired baby food products on it's shelf. I've alerted to store employee's but this is a continuing problem with this store. I finally wrote a letter to the editor about this. Do you think I was right or wrong in doing so since i'm an employee of their supplier or not? And Why?

I think you did a great thing. Having expired food on the shelves, especially baby food, is a terrible abuse of the store.

Baby food expires in about a 1 year if not more. How could they put expired baby food on their shelves?

They are setting themselves up for a lawsuit but you hopefully saved them from their mistakes.

You are right on reporting it. I believe, as an employee of the grocery store, it is your obligation to make sure that products sold in the store are not expired so as not to harm your consumer's health. And it is the right thing to do.

that's gross. i'd sue em lol jk do what you can to thwart that. otherwise they are gonna have some serious problems if something happens to a baby from eating expired food. they are gonna wish they took you more seriously if they even remember you saying anything that is. does the fda regulate food expirations. the health department? you can call the better business bureau about it. i don't know what they will do though.

I think you were right. It doesn't matter that you weren't "standing up for your friends"...babies should NOT be eating expired food...it's very dangerous to them. You should feel good about yourself, you may have even saved a life.

Completely right. What's more important, loyalty to your employer, or the health of infants? Any respectable person would have done the same.

I think they don't really care about what you are saying until they see people reading it in the paper. Yes you did the right thing.
