that's a generalization that is generally true....in my relationships it turns out that I am generally the more loving partner...but as the say it isn't the smartest thing to do ...generalize that is

Whoa, talk about a can of worms...
Okay, here is my take. Although love is difficult to quantify objectively, I think it is difficult for any couple to say that they love each other EXACTLY the same. And I think it is really a problem when you start to dwell on the issue because you can get into sort of a Janet Jackson mentality (i.e. "What have you done for me lately?")
My wife and I just had discussion...prompted by an off-handed remark that I had made in another answer that maybe she loved me "more" despite my faults. In retrospect, I suppose it was my clumsy attempt to say that she was very loving and very giving.
What I recently learned about myself is that I've been very selfish...that I had a much greater capacity to love than I was giving her. I hope that I've fixed that now, but I am a work in progress. Does she love me more? I can't focus on that...my focus is on being a better husband and father...hopefully good enough so that neither one of us entertains those thoughts.

Not in every relationship, but it does happen due to a number of reasons. One partner may have more maturity than the other and be more generous.

Not every one.If you are in a relationship like you probably don't notice it's everyone on the outside looking in that knows.

I don't know if they love the other person more, but there is always one who's more involved. Wait! Maybe that's because they love more than the other . . .

I do and I also believe that this person alternates throughout the years.
For instance, at this point in time, my husband loves me more than I love him. This changes from time to time....

Could be true depending on how the relationship was formed and evolves.

Ever try cutting an apple exactly in half...
It's impossible...
However slight.....
One is always a bit larger...
and the other a bit smaller..
Even though they look the same...

One is usually more committed. Hate to say that, but I think some people see it as "forever" while others just think "for awhile."
