How much should I charge someone for babysitting their 2 year old? I am starting on friday and she wants me to tell her what i want her to pay me. I'm not really sure what to charge though. She is working 3 jobs and doesn't get child support from her ex husband so I don't want to charge her too much.

I am 20 years old and I have a 9 month old son. I will be bringing him over there also. I will be at her house from 5pm-12am and he goes to sleep at 8-8:30.

How old are you?

If you're younger than 17, I suggest offering to watch her child for about $2/hour.

If you're older than 17, I suggest offering to talk with her and get a fair estimate. Talk with her and tell her that you want to babysit her child but you want to make sure you're fair to HER situation.

Ask other babysitters how much they're charging then its up to you whether you will charge the same or cheaper. Bear in mind that you are doing this mother a favor too by looking after her child so she could go to work. Looking after two year old can be full on job, remember what they say about terrible twos?

I charge $20 /day for 1 child and $30 for 2. $15 for half a day or $3/hr. It depends on how many hrs you have him. you should talk to her and ask her what she can afford, or what she has payed her previous babysitters. Is all up to you and what your time is worth.I think is great that you are considering her situation.Hope that helps

Hey, if you've got a kid too, ask her about trading. You watch her kid when she needs a sitter--she watches yours when you do. That way, neither of you is out any money, and you both have a babysitter :D

tell her to pay you what she feels comfortable paying you. If you disagree with this amount, then you can just tell her or babysit someone else?
