When a line is paralell it means that it has the same slope. In the original equation you have to put it in y=mx+b form and the m would represent the slope. Then you take that slope and your new point and write the equation of the new line. For that you use the formula y-y1=m(x-x1). From there you plug in your point into the x1 and y1 and solve for y to find your new equation.
